COLLEGE PARK

Named for its many streets that sport the names of famous colleges and learning institutions, College Park is a small neighborhood just on the outskirts of Downtown Orlando that has long been a favorite location for seniors and working professionals.

Thanks to many renovations of the older homes (College Park has been a community in Florida for over a century!), the area has become a trendy, yet affordable Mecca for individuals looking for a cozy home close to the hectic energy of the city.

College Park is a community of predominantly bungalow-styled homes that were built in the early 1900’s. Investors in recent years have swooped in and remodeled the majority of them, keeping them within a reasonable price range while still offering the amenities and opportunities of being so near the heart of Central Orlando.

There is also a popular high-rise condominium that has been constructed on Edgewater Drive. Despite being in an area that is prone to city traffic, the majority of residents in College Park commute less than half an hour to work.

When you are so near Downtown, there’s plenty to do and see, from fine dining and nightlife clubs to art museums and the Orlando Science Center. Whether your love is history, Performance Theater, modern art, shopping, eating out, or simply ‘painting the town red’ you’ll have access to what you’re looking for here.

Aside from the excitement and hubbub of Downtown, College Park also hosts a number of cultural events, including the annual Shakespeare festival, Jazzfest, and Fringe Festival, a 14-day event that consists of dozens of performances showcasing theater, art, dance, and music of all kinds.

Did we mention the annual Food and Wine Festival to benefit charity?

Current census data shows that over half of the population of College Park is without children. The area has proven to be most popular with retired individuals and young professionals working in Orlando.

However, if you are interested in the many conveniences the area offers, there are also a number of notable schools nearby, youth athletics, and the “Neighborgood” program. The Neighborgood program was designed to help neighbors connect with each other in order to help those in need.

If College Park sounds like the community for you, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We would love to help you find your perfect home in the area.
